This year, consumers plan to spend $10.1 billion on gifts for non-romantic recipients, or 45% of the total Valentine’s spend of $21.8 billion, with $11.7 billion spent on romantic partners, according to a National Retail Federation survey.

E-commerce has made it easier than ever for companies to abandon a one-size-fits-all message and court solo consumers. This year, the National Retail Federation found that consumers plan to spend $10.1 billion on gifts for non-romantic recipients, making up 45% of the total Valentine’s spend.
