A Moment to Pause

Use one minute of your time now and stare at the water, allow the waves to gently welcome in a sense of calm and ease for your body.

You don't need to hear the sound of the waves. Your brain can conjure up that sound for you. That's how powerful your thoughts and emotions are.

Yet if you choose, add the sound and allow those waves to carry you off.

Spend this time staring at the water, while breathing in and out, in and out, gently, and deeply.

With each breath take slightly longer to breathe in and breeeeathe out.

As you reach the end, notice how you feel. Notice any sensations in your body.

Release any judgements or ideas of what you think you should or shouldn't feel, and give yourself permission to accept what is there.

Congratulations! You've just given your body a rest. You've signaled to your entire nervous system (the parasympathetic system) to release and relax for a moment.
